Fred Jarrett joins the Washington Health Alliance board of directors

Fred Jarrett, Deputy King County Executive, was elected to the Washington Health Alliance’s board of directors this month.

Mr. Jarrett oversees and directs the work of the King County Executive Branch, including its departments, operations and policy development. Previously a state senator, Jarrett served four terms in the Washington state House of Representatives, after serving as Mercer Island Mayor and as a city council and school board member. Jarrett has also had a 35-year career at The Boeing Company.

Mr. Jarrett is replacing Dr. David Fleming, former Director & Health Officer, Public Health – Seattle & King County, who is stepping down after serving seven years on the board, three of which he led as board chair.

“Fred’s deep experience in both the private and public sector will be a real asset to the Alliance board,” said Caroline Whalen, Alliance Board Chair and King County Administrative Officer. “We’re thankful to Dr. David Fleming for his passion for the Alliance’s mission and for his leadership in helping to guide the Alliance to success.”

Mr. Jarrett is a graduate of Washington State University and Seattle University.
