Senior Health Data Analyst

Girma Demissie is a Senior Health Data Analyst for the Washington Health Alliance. He has more than 25 years’ experience in Information Technology with a focus in data warehousing and business intelligence environments. Girma is an accomplished contributor in his career as a software developer, having developed multiple solutions and applications for industry leaders like Microsoft; T-Mobile, Premera, the Department Of Transportation and many others. He spent the past 10 years focused on health care data and information. Girma brings a strong foundation of both business and technology knowledge to the Washington Health Alliance.

Prior to joining the Alliance, he served as Data Warehouse developer at Premera Blue Cross, where he was responsible for implementing Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions. At Premera he led efforts in the design, development and implementation of reporting and analytical solutions for a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Before working at Premera, Girma held multiple roles as a business intelligence developer for Microsoft, the State of Texas and the State of Iowa, implementing a data warehouse for Medicare in the design and development of a claims adjudication system at Avanade, a subsidiary of Accenture.

Girma received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Haile Sellassie First University in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and has multiple certifications in information technology.
