Teresa Battels
Strategic Project Coordinator
Teresa Battels is the Strategic Project Coordinator for the Low Back Pain Implementation Collaborative (Low Back PIC) for the Washington Health Alliance. In that role, she provides day-to-day management of the Low Back PIC, an important grant-funded project that has significant visibility across many health care organizations including purchasers (employers, union trusts, and multi-employer plans), health care providers, and health plans.
Among her responsibilities are developing and tracking all project documents, including timelines, deliverables, and outcomes; researching best practices/approaches and engaging senior advisors; and working with all stakeholders to identify potential policy implications.
Teresa is very proud to come from a family of healthcare providers and, for 25 years, she, herself, has worked in various patient-facing jobs in health care. Prior to joining the Alliance, she worked as a Patient Experience Advocate and Project Coordinator in Musculoskeletal Medicine at The Polyclinic. There, she focused on multiple inter-disciplinary, collaborative projects aimed towards improving patients’ access to the health care system as well as their continued experiences.
Teresa lives on Bainbridge Island, loves being the “cool aunt” to a large number of nieces and nephews and exploring the beautiful west coast with them whenever possible.
