Welcome new member Columbia United Providers

This month, we’re excited to welcome Columbia United Providers, Inc. (CUP) as our newest health plan member. Thanks to the support of our members, the Alliance is able to produce the Community Checkup and move the needle toward a more transparent and high-quality health system.

Columbia United Providers

CUP is a local health plan founded on the idea that Clark County physicians and hospitals could team up and coordinate care closer to home. CUP participates in Washington state’s Apple Health program and the individual marketplace on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange. They currently serve over 53,000 members of all ages through an extensive participating provider network. CUP also provides utilization management, member services, disease and case management, quality assurance and claims payment services. From self-insured employer health plans to medical groups participating in risk contracts, they provide solutions that foster healthier communities.

About Washington Health Alliance

The Washington Health Alliance is a place where stakeholders work collaboratively to transform Washington state’s health care system for the better. The Alliance brings together organizations that share a commitment to drive change in our health care system by offering a forum for critical conversation and aligned efforts by stakeholders: purchasers, providers, health plans, consumers and other health care partners. The Alliance believes strongly in transparency and offers trusted and credible reporting of progress on measures of health care quality and value. The Alliance is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit with more than 185 member organizations. A cornerstone of the Alliance's work is the Community Checkup, a report to the public comparing the performance of medical groups, hospitals and health plans and offering a community-level view on important measures of health care quality (www.wacommunitycheckup.org).
