Alliance voices support for release of federal primary care action plan

Joining a number of other organizations nationwide, the Washington Health Alliance wrote to Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra requesting the release of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Action Plan for Primary Care.

Like much of the nation, Washington is facing mounting challenges in the delivery of high-quality primary care to all our residents. From inadequate access to a lack of financial support, primary care in our state continues to be on shaky ground.

But it is as important as ever that we continue working with partners at all levels to bolster this system. The release of this plan by HHS would signal needed federal support for primary care transformation and serve as a guide for the work already underway by many of our state and local partners.

As we await the release of this action plan, the Alliance, and its membership, remains committed to creating a sustainable, resilient health care delivery system in Washington State.
