Alliance welcomes new senior health data analyst
The Alliance is happy to welcome a new senior health data analyst, Gabriel Hanna.
Gabriel joins the Alliance’s data management and analytics team at an exciting time as we continue to drive innovative, insightful analysis of our voluntary All-Payer Claim database, which encompasses more than 4 million lives in Washington state.
A little more about Gabriel:
His experience lies in the intersection of data science, finance, actuarial science, medical economics, and mathematics. His passion is for using math to solve problems, and for aligning processes and incentives with desirable outcomes. He feels the field of health care is where he can put his skills to highest and best use.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Gabriel earned a Ph. D. in physics from Washington State University. After some years in research and teaching, he joined Molina Healthcare as a healthcare analyst, where his highest profile work was in developing value-base care arrangements along with their supporting systems for rating, reporting, forecasting, and settlement. Within six years he was leading the healthcare analytics team for Molina’s Washington, Utah, and Idaho plans. He then led the Finance Planning and Analysis team for Molina’s Washington plan. In these roles he worked closely with plan leadership and executive leadership, primarily on issues relating to Molina’s contracts with provider networks and state governments, and issues affecting the financial performance of the plans supported by his teams. He then moved to a small technology startup, where he oversaw the finance team while gaining exposure to cutting-edge machine learning and data science techniques.
Join us in welcoming Gabriel to the Alliance. His first day was March 25.
