I am very pleased to let you know that Sharon I. Eloranta, MD, will be joining the Washington Health Alliance on October 11, 2021 as the Medical Director of Performance Measurement and Care Transformation. Sharon is the perfect fit for this inaugural role given her rich background and professional experience, as well as her long term service to the organization’s Quality Improvement Committee.
Sharon’s strong skill set will help the Alliance further its goals to successfully compete for and implement major grant and other initiatives to drive change in the market through our analytic and convening work. In her new position, Sharon will be responsible for providing senior-level strategic and clinical leadership in all areas of the Alliance’s work. She will have lead responsibility for all efforts of the Quality Improvement Committee, a group made up of approximately two dozen clinical leaders from major medical groups, hospitals, health systems and health plans across the state. She will also play a significant role in the new work on Implementing Evidenced-Based Care for Low-Back Pain.
Currently, Sharon serves as the Quality Manager for Vera Whole Health. Previously, she acted as Division Director, Clinical Excellence and Quality at CHI Franciscan Health, and prior to that, she was the Medical Director for Quality and Safety Initiatives at Qualis Health (now Comagine) for many years.
Sharon’s medical degree is from Georgetown University School of Medicine and she holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. Sharon is also a Quality Improvement Fellow with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
