Helping Employers Meet the Needs of Members with Obesity

Obesity is not just a health issue for more than 40% of the US population, it is a considerable issue for employers who have faced lost productivity and increased medical costs for those with obesity. For employers, brokers, and consultants interested in learning about options to support employees, members, and their dependents with managing obesity, the Washington Health Alliance is providing an educational convening opportunity on January 26th.

During this program, participants will learn about obesity management, benefit alternatives, health and wellness options, and recent innovations to prevent and manage obesity. Space is limited. Contact Washington Health Alliance Medical Director Sharon Eloranta if you are interested in participating.

This opportunity is sponsored by Novo Nordisk. For 95 years, Novo Nordisk, a global leader in healthcare, has been committed to discovering and developing innovative medicines to help people with chronic diseases lead longer, healthier lives.

About Washington Health Alliance

The Washington Health Alliance is a place where stakeholders work collaboratively to transform Washington state’s health care system for the better. The Alliance brings together organizations that share a commitment to drive change in our health care system by offering a forum for critical conversation and aligned efforts by stakeholders: purchasers, providers, health plans, consumers and other health care partners. The Alliance believes strongly in transparency and offers trusted and credible reporting of progress on measures of health care quality and value. The Alliance is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit with more than 185 member organizations. A cornerstone of the Alliance's work is the Community Checkup, a report to the public comparing the performance of medical groups, hospitals and health plans and offering a community-level view on important measures of health care quality (www.wacommunitycheckup.org).
