Puget Sound Energy and SEIU 775 Benefits Group to submit data to Alliance’s APCD

The Washington Health Alliance is excited to announce that Puget Sound Energy and SEIU 775 Benefits Group have agreed to become data suppliers for the Alliance’s voluntary All-Payer Claims Database (APCD).

The addition of these two organizations to the Alliance’s APCD will add nearly 11,000 covered lives to this already robust database, which dates back to 2004 and includes data on 4 million covered lives in Washington state. Both organizations will begin submitting their quality and pricing data in April and will be included in future Alliance reports, like the Community Checkup.

PSE and SEIU 775 Benefits Group join more than 25 health plans, self-insured purchasers and union trusts, as well as the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (Medicaid) in sharing their data with the Alliance’s voluntary APCD. A full list of data suppliers is available on the Community Checkup website.

The Alliance is grateful to PSE and SEIU 775 Benefits Group for taking this important step, which will help us continue to expand our reporting on health care quality and cost. The participation and commitment from the Alliance’s data suppliers has allowed us to establish a substantial track record of public reporting and helped Washington become recognized as a national leader in health care transparency.

We are pleased to have PSE and SEIU 775 Benefits Group join us as we continue to grow our APCD and improve health care reporting in Washington state.

About Washington Health Alliance

The Washington Health Alliance is a place where stakeholders work collaboratively to transform Washington state’s health care system for the better. The Alliance brings together organizations that share a commitment to drive change in our health care system by offering a forum for critical conversation and aligned efforts by stakeholders: purchasers, providers, health plans, consumers and other health care partners. The Alliance believes strongly in transparency and offers trusted and credible reporting of progress on measures of health care quality and value. The Alliance is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit with more than 185 member organizations. A cornerstone of the Alliance's work is the Community Checkup, a report to the public comparing the performance of medical groups, hospitals and health plans and offering a community-level view on important measures of health care quality (www.wacommunitycheckup.org).
