Join Us in Welcoming New Strategic Project Coordinator Teresa Battels!
We are pleased to announce that Teresa Battels is joining the Washington Health Alliance (Alliance) as our new Strategic Project Coordinator for the Low-Back Pain Implementation Collaborative (Low-Back PIC). In that role, she will play an integral role in the strategic planning and execution of the project, focused on the implementation of evidence-based strategies to improve the care of low-back pain across the state.
Teresa is very proud to come from a family of healthcare providers and, for 25 years, she, herself, has worked in various patient-facing jobs in health care. For the last 16 years, she has been at The Polyclinic, most recently working as a Patient Experience Advocate and Project Coordinator in Musculoskeletal Medicine. Her work there included multiple inter-disciplinary, collaborative projects aimed towards improving patients’ access to the health care system as well as their continued experiences.
At the Alliance, her primary responsibilities will center around the day-to-day management of the Low-Back PIC, an important grant-supported project that has significant visibility across many health care organizations including purchasers (employers, union trusts, and multi-employer plans), health care providers, and health plans and has the potential to improve the quality of care for thousands of Washington state residents. Among her responsibilities will be:
- developing and tracking all project documents, including timelines, deliverables, accountable parties, and outcomes;
- researching best practices/approaches and engaging senior advisors and others as needed; and
- working with all stakeholders to identify potential policy implications.
Teresa lives on Bainbridge Island, loves being the “cool aunt” to a large number of nieces and nephews, and exploring the beautiful west coast with them whenever possible.
Please join us in welcoming Teresa to the Alliance team!
