Alliance Medical Director Appointed to Bree Collaborative

On February 11th, Washington Governor Jay Inslee appointed Washington Medical Director Dr. Sharon Eloranta to serve on the Robert Bree Collaborative, created in 2011 by the Washington State Legislature to enable public and private health care stakeholder to work together to identify specific ways to improve health care quality, outcomes, and affordability in Washington state.

In the appointment letter, Inslee welcomed Eloranta to the team and said, “My goals are to grow Washington’s economy, strengthen our schools, and promote a culture of performance and efficiency in state government. You can help me achieve these goals. I ask that you take personal responsibility for making sure the Robert Bree Collaborative operates in a way that is transparent, responsive and focused on implementing lean management tools to achieve results.”

Dr. Eloranta has had a long history supporting the Bree’s work through her participation in a number of Bree workgroups regarding Accountable Payment Models, including Bariatric Surgery and Total Knee and Total Hip Replacement Re-Review, as well as Hospital Readmissions.
